Introducing MFS

MFS stands for Mobile Field Service. It is a module for ProLine which allows mobile staff such as engineers or servicing technicians to conduct their work using a smartphone powered by Android.

The MFS app is a successor for our previous ProLine PDA module, which runs on Windows Mobile 6.

With mobile data plan, staff can access their job list from the phone, update job status and capture customer signature on the phone itself.

Take photos and attach to the job. Once jobs are completed, it will upload to server and updated the job sheet (service reports) automatically.

What are the benefits?

  • Allow last minute (ad-hoc) job assignments to staff already on-the-road.
  • Almost real-time capturing of data with GPS location.
  • Reduces the administration and paperwork filing tremendously.
  • Paperless Service Reports – email PDF reports to customers directly.

Can it work without mobile data plans?

MFS can be used as a PDA replacement meaning that the phone can be synced via wifi in the office and then bring out to work. At the end of the day, the staff can then sync the data back to server.

Why Android?

Looking at the ecosystem, Android have more choices and are more cost effective.
